Jody’s Story
Sweet girl, found in Canon.
No one could catch her, but when Jenny and I went over, she came right to me.
In the pen we noticed she didn’t really want to eat; strange for a stray. And then noticed these lumps on her chest area. We thought they might have been infected sores.
Jenny took her into the vet and the xrays showed bullets in her neck and chest area, including her lungs. The internal infection was so bad, that the Dr. said antibiotics for months wouldn’t clear it up. She would have to have specialist (respiratory) surgery and then antibiotics for months. Cost would be between $4,000 and $6,000.
We knew we couldn’t afford that and couldn’t come up with anywhere or anyone that would take that on for her/us.
So decided we had to put her down.
I put on FB because I wanted the public and our locals to know what a shame this was because someone was so cruel to do this to her. There was much outrage from my post.
But it did have the effect I was hoping for; much sympathy for her and much more understanding of what we have to deal with sometimes.
